After You Get a Crown

  1. Soft diet – no sticky foods or candies until you receive your new crown.
  2. Do not floss in the area of your temporary crown as this will likely remove your temporary prematurely.
  3. Do brush gently in and around area of temporary crown.
  4. Realize that some sensitivity may occur to hot or cold drinks as temporary crowns are generally thinner than your new crown will be.
  5. If you feel any severe pain or pain that wakes you up at night, call us immediately as this may mean you need further treatment before your crown can be placed.
  6. You may take over the counter pain meds if necessary. Your soreness should only last for a couple of days if you have any discomfort at all.
  7. Call our office if any concerns.
